SASSA Has Confirmed R350 January 2024 Payment Dates

In the recent news, SASSA has officially confirmed the SRD R350 grant payment dates for January 2024. In this article we covered everything you may need to know as a Beneficiary of the Social Relief of Distress Grant.

Looking at the way this grant helps many of citizens, the R350 benefit is helping over 7 million South Africans every month. Sassa has extended the SRD R350 grant again last year till March 2024. This important announcement will enable beneficiaries to know when exactly they should expect the payment.

The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant was first introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 to assist those who were unemployed and had no other source of income. The grand has been extended several times when the department saw the need due to high unemployment rate.

SASSA R350 January 2024 Payment Dates

SRD grants are normally released to beneficiaries during the last week of every month, this time it will be paid to recipients from 25 January. The final SRD grant payments for January will be processed on the 31 January 2024 by Sassa.

Beneficiaries are advised to continuously check the status of their applications on the official Sassa website to see if they are approved or declined. It’s important to note that the Department of Social Development still accepts appeals if your application is declined and you disagree with the decision.

At times your application is rejected because some of the information you provided on the portal may not be accurate or you currently have other alternative income.

Delays in R350 payments may happen due to various reasons. Common causes include high volume of applications, administrative issues, verification processes or banking details discrepancies.
