October 2023 Sassa Grant Payment Dates. Every month, over 18 million South Africans receive various social grants from the South African government (this does not include SRD grantees) These grants are distributed by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) to people who have no montly income to help take care of themselves.
SASSA offers a variety of grants that qualifying people can apply for, including Disability Grant, Old Age Grant, War Veterans Grant, Foster Child Grant, Care Dependency Grant and supplemental child support designed for parents of orphaned children, and the Grant-in-Aid, catering to Sassa beneficiaries requiring assistance in caring for themselves.
OCTOBER 2023 SASSA GRANT PAYMENT DATES
SASSA support payments are distributed on specific dates each month. Here are the scheduled payment dates for October 2023 Disability, Child Support Allowance and Adult Allowance:
- The Older Persons Grant – 3 October 2023.
- The Disability Grant – 4 October 2023.
- All other grants (Child Support Grant, Foster Child Grant, Care Dependency Grant, War Veterans Grant) – 5 October 2023.
- The SRD grant will be between 25 October and 31 October 2023 (recipients must check their status for the exact date – funds will take between 2 and 3 days to reflect after being processed).
Where to Withdraw using SASSA Gold Card
The SASSA Gold Card works like any regular bank card – you can withdraw cash at an ATM and use your card at the till point. Beneficiaries must set PIN for their gold cards to ensure the safety of their money if the card is lost or stolen. The SASSA Gold Card is endorsed by the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).

Once you receive the SASSA social grant money, it stays on your SASSA Gold Card until you are ready to use it. If your gold card expires, you need to go to your nearest post office to get a replacement, but you can still use it until 31 December 2023 .
