INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (COMMUNITY SERVICES)
Mossel Bay Municipality is offering opportunities to unemployed South African graduates from
Higher Education institutions who have completed a three- (3) year Degree or National Diploma
and who are seeking work experience related to the field of study that they have completed.
REQUIREMENTS

- National Diploma or Degree (minimum NQF Level 6) in related field to Community Development/ Project Management/ Sport Management (must be in possession of complete qualification at date of application)
- Must be in possession of a valid Code B driver’s license
- Fluent in at least two (2) of the official languages of the Western Cape
- Computer literate (MS Office applications)
- Applicants must have met the academic requirements for the advertised field of study/discipline and should not previously have been employed as an Intern in the Public Sector.
- Must be willing to work overtime
DURATION: Contractual appointment: Twelve (12) months with the option to extend the period for a further twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) months, up to a maximum of three (3) years in total.
STIPEND: R8 327.10 per month

SENIOR CLERK: COSTING BUDGET & REPORTING (FINANCIAL SERVICES)
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- A relevant 3-year tertiary qualification, preferably a National Diploma or BCom with Financial Accounting as a major subject (minimum NQF Level 6)
- 0 – 2 Years’ relevant experience

- Good human relations, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to give attention to detail
- High level of responsibility
- Ability to work under pressure
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant tertiary qualification with Cost Accounting as a subject
- Proficiency in Promun system
- More than 2 years’ relevant experience
- Valid Code B driver’s license (manual vehicle)

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Create and maintain job/vehicle numbers for correct cost allocations
- Process time and log sheets
- Reconcile timesheets, log sheets and costing reports
- Assist with implementation of Costing Policy
- Attend to specific administrative recording and reporting requirements
- Administer process for departmental costing (e.g. request and receive worksheets, check worksheets for completeness, and capture worksheet information on costing system)
- Obtain and update cost driver information in Secondary Costing Model
- Prepare secondary costing model for each new budget year
- Prepare monthly secondary costing journal
- Answer queries by addressing the public or internal clients in person, by phone or in writing
SALARY SCALE: All-inclusive total package of ± R242 254,61 – R304 641,36 per annum. Benefits eg medical aid scheme, pension fund, group life scheme, 13th cheque included.
BASIC SALARY: R160 770,48 – R208 686,96 per annum (T6)
SENIOR CLERK: DRIVING LICENSE ADMINISTRATION
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- Formal and informal reporting
- Production of letters and reports
- Diplomatic interaction with various stakeholders

ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT: TRAFFIC & LAW ENFORCEMENT
REQUIREMENTS

- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- Traffic Officer Diploma
- Registered as a Traffic Officer
- Valid Code B/EB driving license
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ relevant experience of which 2 to 3 years’ must be supervisory experience
- Computer literate (MS Office applications)
- Proficient in at least 2 of the 3 official languages of the Western Cape
- Proof of clean criminal record not older than 6 months (submission of SAPS application while awaiting results will be considered)
- Physically fit and able-bodied
- Required to work in all weather conditions
- Required to work outside normal working hours during emergencies/planned overtime
PREFERRED REQUIREMENT
- Recognized 3-year Diploma in Traffic Management and Policing (ITO III) or equivalent Degree or Diploma (NQF Level 6)
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Coordinate activities and procedures associated with direct supervision and monitoring of personnel within the section
- Complete instructional/operational documentation (vehicle log sheets, occurrence registers, overtime schedules etc.)
- Make recommendations to manager in terms of changes to current service delivery or the need for new services
- Plan and manage the utilisation of resources within the section
- Ensure a climate conducive to promoting and sustaining motivation and performance levels of subordinates
- Execute law enforcement and traffic control activities
- Set up roadblocks, inspect roadworthiness of vehicles, search suspected dangerous goods, etc.
- Educate and train the public by presenting informative talks
- Check validity of business licenses and conformance with specific by-laws and regulations
- Issue summons and notices, execute warrants of arrest and testify on cases
- Handle correspondence received from the public, provincial and national structures in writing, per telephone or in person
- Informal and formal reporting
SALARY SCALE: All-inclusive total package of ± R458 178.03 – R584 263.27 per annum. Benefits eg medical aid scheme, pension fund, group life scheme, 13th cheque included.
A monthly danger allowance may be payable to qualifying employees as per the relevant policy.
BASIC SALARY: R327 494.52 – R425 084.52 per annum
