Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Collaborate with the AVI Group’s HR Shared Services to implement group-wide initiatives.
- Develop and oversee HR strategies related to training, industrial relations, recruitment, transformation, and employee relations.
- Establish a high-performing HR structure, leading a team dedicated to achieving excellence.
Employment Relations:
- Navigate complex employment legislation and maintain constructive relationships with unions and employee representatives.
- Lead conflict resolution, grievance, and disciplinary processes with a focus on fair outcomes.
- Manage CCMA referrals and represent the company in hearings and negotiations.
Training and Development:
- Spearhead comprehensive training and development programs to enhance employee skills and leadership capabilities.
- Oversee succession planning and personal development initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Performance Management and Rewards:
- Implement and manage the AVI Performance Management System, driving accountability for individual and team performance.
- Oversee compensation strategies, ensuring alignment with industry standards and organizational objectives.

Diversity and Transformation:
- Champion BBBEE initiatives and develop an employment equity plan to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Lead corporate social responsibility efforts and community engagement programs.
Employee Wellness:
- Design and implement employee wellness programs, focusing on holistic health and retention strategies.
- Manage change initiatives and ensure effective communication across all levels of the organization.
Team Development:
- Cultivate a high-performing HR team through coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure the HR department provides exceptional support to line management.
Payroll and Compliance:
- Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5-7 years of HR management experience on a Senior Management level.
- Experience in a fast-paced FMCG environment, with a strong background in employment relations, learning and development, and HR analytics.
- A degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
Skills and Attributes
- Deep understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Proficient in HR systems and tools, including SAP and Excel.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
