NSFAS is taking Applications for 2024

NSFAS is currently taking online applications for the 2024 academic year from South African students.

The Minister of Higher Education and Training Dr Blade Nzimande made the call as the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) officially opened the bursary application season for the 2024 academic year. The bursary application season will close on 31 January 2024.

Minister further said the reason for opening the applications period now is that NSFAS was awaiting South African Revenue Service (SARS) completion of the tax period, which is important to enable NSFAS to have the necessary and updated information available during the application season.

NSFAS is taking Applications for 2024

Applicants are encouraged to simply follow this steps to apply:

1. Step 1: Go to www.nsfas.org.za and click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab.
2. Step 2: Create a myNSFAS account.
3. Step 3: Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and complete the sections on the screen.
4. Step 4: Upload required supporting documents where applicable.
5. Step 5: Click on ‘Submit’

If you have an existing myNSFAS account but have forgotten your old username, password and cellphone number. Here is how to reset your profile:

1. Visit the NSFAS website at www.nsfas.org.za.
2. Click on myNSFAS account.
3. Select ‘forgot password’
4. Type in your South African ID number.
5. Choose one of the following options:

7. Click ‘submit’
